Daffodil Festival
Chairperson: Rose Sullivan

As part of their outreach and education programs, Gloucester Master Gardeners lead guided walking tours of the gardens located at The Bulb Shoppe and at the home of Brent and Becky Heath during Daffodil Festival weekend. The tours offer a glimpse into the history of Brent and Becky’s as well as an opportunity to learn about what grows well in our area; which daffodils, bulbs, shrubs and trees are in bloom at that time of year; and a behind-the-scenes look at their facilities and catalog business. Proceeds support Gloucester Extension Master Gardener Scholarships and community educational programs.

Ready, Set, Grow
Chairperson: Anne Markwith
Ready, Set, Grow is a hands-on science program designed for upper elementary students. Students take on the role of young botanists as they explore the parts of a flowering plant through a guided daffodil dissection. Through observation, labeling, and discussion, students deepen their understanding of the parts of a plant and learn how photosynthesis allows plants to make their own food.
